On January 9, 2026, Qingdao Liweiyuan Steel Structure shipped its first batch of six modern steel structure pig farm components, weighing approximately 30 tons, to a Uruguayan client. These pig farms feature a modular design with ventilation, insulation, and environmental protection functions, meeting the Uruguayan client's needs for expanding pig farming scale and improving efficiency. This marks a further expansion of the application of Chinese steel structure products in South American agriculture. The Uruguayan agricultural department stated that the introduction of Chinese steel structure pig farms will help improve the modernization level of the country's pig farming and strengthen agricultural cooperation between Uruguay and China.

According to the project manager of Liweiyuan Steel Structure, these components will be rapidly assembled locally in Uruguay, with all six pig farms expected to be completed and operational within two months. The Chinese technical team will provide local technicians with professional remote installation guidance and technical training to ensure the efficient and stable operation of the facilities. Uruguayan inspectors at the factory stated that the quality and design details of the Chinese steel structure products exceeded expectations, and the modular structure significantly shortened the construction cycle, helping them to expand their farming scale more quickly and increase pork production capacity to meet domestic market demand. Furthermore, the successful implementation of this project has accumulated valuable experience for Chinese agricultural equipment manufacturers in expanding into the South American market. Currently, several agricultural companies in South American countries have proactively inquired about similar cooperation plans, which is expected to further deepen practical cooperation between China and South American countries in the field of agricultural modernization.
